Sinopsis Filem
1992. Rockers menangis, rambut mereka dipotong. Langsung dari kaca televisyen. Apa yang berlaku di sebalik peristiwa awal 90-an yang cukup mengejutkan di Malaysia ini sekaligus memberi kesan kepada pengkaryaan Nasir Jani pada tahun-tahun berikutnya? Dokumentari ‘Nasir Jani Melawan Lembaga Puaka’ mengekori perjalanan pembikin filem-kultus ‘Kembara Seniman Jalanan’ ini dalam merenung kompleksnya budaya penapisan di Malaysia. Pertembungan Mahathirisme di awal-awal pemerintahannya sehinggalah budaya autoritarian yang cukup ironis, dokumentari ini juga menanggapi perspektif rencam dari pembikin filem muda, Amanda Nell Eu dan Steven Sarathbabu yang bergelut dan menggelecek dengan logik penapisan serta apa yang berlaku di baliknya.

92’. Cropped rocker’s hair. Live on air. What goes behind the most shocking event in the early nineties Malaysia affecting the career of the one and only Nasir Jani for years to come? Documentary entitled 'Nasir Jani Melawan Lembaga Puaka’ follows the cult-filmmaker of ‘Kembara Seniman Jalanan’ on his reflective journey looking at the complex culture of censorship in Malaysia. The intertwining of Mahathirism in its early formative period to the ironic culture of authoritarianism, the documentary visualize multiple perspectives of the upcoming filmmakers, Amanda Nell Eu and Steven Sarathbabu grappling and negotiating with the logics of censorship and what goes behind it.
