Join us at Rhythm of the Seasons, where music, dance, and theater come together to bring the beauty of nature’s cycle to life. This program features the captivating chamber music of Vivaldi, Piazzolla, Gershwin, and more, and follows the journey of a fox and a deer as they navigate the joys, sorrows, and rhythm of the changing seasons.

As the animals journey through the four seasons, the audience will be immersed in classical, tango, and jazz music relating to the seasons. Key artists include internationally acclaimed musicians Dr. Esther Shin Chuang (pianist/vocalist/fox), Yoko Mano (violinist/rabbit), Rachel An (cellist/cat), and Alexius Henry (drummer/bear). The performance is further elevated with artistic dance by the award-winning dancer Mich Elle, making it a truly unforgettable experience.

Through humor, heartfelt moments, and audience participation, this unique performance invites babies, children, youth, and adults to experience the wonder of each season.

Each performance ticket includes a coloring activity starting one hour before the performance—so come early and enjoy the creative fun!

Rhythm of the Seasons is brought to you by the creative team behind the sold-out 2023 production of The Enchanted Forest: A Concert-Dance-Theater for Families and the musicians of the highly acclaimed Penang Chamber Music Festival 2024. Purchase your tickets today before they're sold out! Let’s make cherished memories together with your family, friends, and your loved one.

Q and A

Q. Where is Auditorium A located?

Auditorium A is inside KOMTAR, within the Kompleks Pentadbiran Kerajaan Negeri Pulau Pinang Office. Once you reach the office, take the elevator to the 5th floor.

Please note that there are no signs leading to Auditorium A, and it can be very difficult to find. We highly recommend saving this link and following this video for step-by-step directions.

Directions for Auditorium A Video

Plan to arrive early to allow enough time to locate the venue, and also to experience the coloring activity!

Q: What is the difference between the different performance times?

The music will be the same for every performance time, but the storytelling, drama, and audience interaction will vary based on the intended audience.

  • 11 AM Performance – Created for young children ages 0-6 and their parents, with theatre and audience participation tailored for little ones. For the comfort and safety of our young children, the house lights will remain lit throughout the performance.
  • 3 PM Performance – Created for children ages 6 and above, along with their parents, offering theatre and interactive elements for kids and families. However, young kids 0-6 year olds (especially if they are siblings to older kids) may come to this performance as well.
  • 8 PM Performance – Created for youth (teenagers +) and adults, with theatre and interactive moments suited for an older audience. Young kids and babies can come to this performance too, especially if the earlier times do not work for your schedule.

We recommend choosing only one performance time that best suits you and your family for the most meaningful experience! For example, if you have a 5 year old and a 8 year old, we recommend the 3PM performance for families.

Q: What are the different seat types?

The Platinum, Gold, and Silver Seats can be seen below:

Q: Do babies need tickets?

Yes, everyone attending the performance—babies included—will need their own ticket, no matter their age.

Q: What is a lap infant ticket?

A lap infant ticket is for children age 3 and under who will sit on an adult’s lap throughout the performance. Lap infant tickets must be purchased in the same seating tier as the accompanying adult.

If your child age 3 and under and would like their own seat, you must purchase a regular ticket instead. The ushers may check the lap infant's age, so be prepared to show their ID/IC.

Q: Do you offer group discounts?

Yes! There is a special group discount for 20 or more tickets! Use promo code GROUP to receive 25% off.

For groups of 4 or more tickets, use promo code FAMILY to receive 10% off.

Q: Are ticket refunds/exchanges allowed?

We do not allow ticket refunds/exchanges.

Q: Can you explain about the coloring activity?

Starting from 1 hour before each performance, a free coloring activity meant for kids AND adults will be available at the venue (the round tables at the lobby of Auditorium A, Komtar). This special activity is organized and led by Penang Art District.
