话剧《十二怒汉》改编自1957年由西德尼·吕美特执导的美国经典黑白电影，讲述一名贫民窟少年被控弑父，12名陪审员需在密闭房间内达成一致判决的故事。最初11人认定有罪，唯独8号陪审员提出合理怀疑，通过逻辑推理推翻关键证据，逐步说服他人。表决从11:1到全员无罪，展现偏见与理性的较量，最终以“疑罪从无”原则挽救少年生命。全剧场景集中于狭小会议室，通过群像演技与紧凑台词，展现司法程序中对生命权的敬畏，以及民主讨论中独立思考的力量，被誉为“教科书级密闭空间叙事”。

The play Twelve Angry Men is adapted from the 1957 American classic black-and-white film directed by Sidney Lumet. It tells the story of a boy from the slums accused of murdering his father, where twelve jurors must reach a unanimous verdict in a sealed room. Initially, eleven jurors believe the defendant is guilty, with only Juror No. 8 raising reasonable doubt.

Through logical reasoning, he dismantles the key evidence and gradually persuades the others. The vote shifts from 11:1 for guilty to a unanimous not guilty verdict, highlighting the clash between prejudice and reason. The play ultimately upholds the legal principle of “innocent until proven guilty,” saving the boy’s life. Set entirely in a cramped jury room, the play uses ensemble acting and tightly woven dialogue to explore the reverence for the right to life within the judicial system and the power of independent thought in democratic deliberation. It is hailed as a “textbook example of closed-room storytelling.”

The film Twelve Angry Men won the Golden Bear for Best Film at the Berlin International Film Festival and received three Academy Award nominations (Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Adapted Screenplay), as well as Golden Globes nominations for Best Motion Picture – Drama, Best Director, and Best Actor. The original screenplay and stage play were written by Reginald Rose, known for his meticulous logic and profound exploration of human nature. The work focuses on how individuals exercise their power in a democratic society and emphasizes the crucial role of “reasonable doubt” in ensuring judicial fairness.

With its minimalist setting tackling profound themes, Twelve Angry Men serves as both a mirror reflecting the judicial system and a dissection table for human weaknesses. Its timeless relevance stems from an enduring pursuit of truth and justice.

About Luminous Theatre

Luminous Theatre, established in 2023 and based in Malaysia, is a Chinese drama group dedicated to providing acting training for amateurs. We offer aspiring actors the opportunity to step onto a professional stage and fulfill their dream of performing.

Luminous Theatre’s two core projects:
1.    Acting Training Courses
2.    Theatrical Performances and Related Activities

In September 2024, Luminous Theatre successfully launched its first amateur acting training program, offering 20 participants an 8-month drama training. These trainees will take to the professional theater stage in May 2025 to showcase the result of their learning. Meanwhile, the second amateur acting training program officially commenced on March 8, 2025.

In addition, Luminous Theatre has successfully hosted two online script courses, several student showcase performances, and the “Unlocking the Secrets of Acting” workshop, led by Dr. Deric Gan.

In terms of activities, under the leadership of President Noelle Nova and artistic advisors Dr. Deric Gan and Director Easee Gan , Luminous Theatre has successfully organized over ten events. These include:
●    Co-hosting the 2024 “The Eternal Chekhov” drama season
●    Organizing the 2024 Luminous Theatre Annual Performance of the play Three Sisters
●    Hosting the cultural forum “Who is Chekhov? Why Should We Read Chekhov?” and more.

Luminous Theatre will continue to promote the popularization and development of dramatic arts, introducing more drama enthusiasts to the stage and producing more excellent theatrical works.

伴调子剧社，成立于2023年，位于马来西亚，是一家致力于为素人提供表演培训的中文戏剧团体。我们为素人演员提供了踏上专业舞台的机会，帮助他们实现演出的梦想。

伴调子剧社的两大核心项目：
1.    表演培训课程
2.    戏剧演出及相关活动

在2024年9月，伴调子剧社成功开办了第一届素人表演培训班，为20位学员提供了为期8个月的戏剧表演培训。这些学员将在2025年5月登上专业剧场的舞台，展示他们的学习成果。与此同时，第二届素人表演培训班也于2025年3月8日正式启动。

此外，伴调子剧社已圆满完成了两场线上台词课、数场学员汇报演出，以及由颜永祺博士主讲的“解锁表演的密码”表演工作坊。

在活动方面，伴调子剧社在社长蓝念佳和艺术顾问颜永祺博士及颜永祯导演的带领下，已经成功举办了超过十场活动。这些活动包括：
●    2024年“永远的契诃夫”戏剧演出季的协办单位
●    主办2024年伴调子年度公演《三姊妹》舞台剧
●    主办“谁是契诃夫？为什么要读契诃夫？”文化论坛等

伴调子剧社将继续推动戏剧艺术的普及与发展，让更多热爱表演的朋友接触戏剧，并且制作更多优良的舞台剧作品。
