Dr. Koh Doh Tat, a PhD in aesthetics and cultural studies from Nanjing University, will bring us a music salon with the theme of " Savoring the Beauty of Life." He will discuss with us various aspects of aesthetics and music, life and art, such as how to appreciate art and beauty in a busy life, how to listen to music, and why we need art. Let us follow in their footsteps, using an aesthetic perspective to feel and savor the beauty in life and music, making our lives more "beautiful" as a result.

Dr. Koh Doh Tat 许斗达博士
Dr. Koh Doh Tat is a professional in aesthetics and museums. He holds a Master's degree in Art History from Nanjing University of the Arts and a Ph.D. in Aesthetics and Cultural Studies from Nanjing University. He believes that beauty is an essential part of modern life, and besides the rationality and analysis in work, one must also learn to appreciate and feel the beauty of life.
Currently, he travels throughout Malaysia to teach art appreciation and aesthetics courses to working professionals and retirees. He also promotes the concepts of museum administration and cultural strategy. In addition, he has founded "迂野阁" as an educational platform to promote the appreciation of life aesthetics, art, and museum studies. With “迂野阁”, he leads students who are interested in aesthetics, art, or civilization to visit museums, attend concerts, taste wine, tea or coffee, and together they appreciate, listen, and feel the beauty of life, leaving a deep and lasting impression on their hearts.
Tay Cher Siang 郑泽相
Tay Cher Siang is a Malaysian musician who graduated from West Virginia University in the United States, where he studied under Dr. James Miltenberger and Professor Paul Scea, majoring in jazz music education. He returned to Malaysia in 2007 and has been teaching jazz music ever since, having worked at various institutions such as UPM, UM, UCSI, and Yamaha Music Academy. He also has his own music classroom where he teaches jazz music.
Tay Cher Siang is active in the music scene in Malaysia and the Asia region. He has toured with Unit Asia in many countries such as Indonesia, Brunei, Thailand, the Philippines, Vietnam, Japan, Egypt, India, Turkey, Germany, Italy, and Spain. He formed his own band, WVC Malaysian Jazz Ensemble, which focuses on Malaysia and Southeast Asia, as well as the China region, and has performed in various major cities in the region. He has also participated in producing, arranging, and composing albums for many singers.
In 2016 and 2020, Tay Cher Siang won three important art awards in Malaysia: the Boh Kaki Seni Cameronian Arts Awards for Best Solo, Best Ensemble, and Best Original Composition. In 2022, he was invited to be the Artist in Residence at UCSI University. Since 2016, he has been the Chairman of the Malaysian Jazz Piano Festival committee until 2022. He also writes and hosts the program "Ting Jue Xiang Shou" on City Plus FM.
