ALCHEMY OF THE EXTRAORDINARY

Participants will be exploring

Physical Theatre 

  • Being present, focus, intention, and elan
  • The elements of elan: good contact, good suspension, good energy, and pleasure
  • Basic grammar of physical theatre: impulse, journey, and fixed point
  • The seven levels of tension as found in Lecoq’s work
  • Various efforts around characterization
  • Styles of theatre and their elan, particularly melodrama and Commedia

Ensemble work 

  • Chorus Work
  • Collaboration
  • Learning to say “yes”
  • Giving and receiving
