WEEK 1: "FORGET ME NOT" by Joshua Inberaj (& Jazzie Lee)

is an immersive, experimental theatre play that invites the audience to rediscover the joy of Malaysian childhood games. Inspired by personal experiences of rekindling the simple pleasure of play, this performance blurs the lines between actor and audience, asking adults to step back into the world of their youth. The play explores how we often forget to have fun as we grow older, but with a little nudge, we can rediscover the delight in playfulness. With a mix of spontaneity and structure, "Forget Me Not" aims to remind us that fun is ageless, and sometimes, we just need a gentle push to remember.

JOSHUA SAYS:
Scenes will begin with the actors playing traditional Malaysian childhood games, transitioning seamlessly into monologues that reflect on the importance of play. Audience interaction is central, with participants invited to join the games and engage in the performance. Through a combination of speech, movement, and game-play, the performance will highlight the contrast between our adult responsibilities and the carefree nature of childhood fun. Expect a mix of nostalgia, spontaneity, and a lot of laughter as the boundaries between actor and audience dissolve in the spirit of play.
