About
About the Production
With festivals in 14 countries, there is no stopping the SHORT+SWEET mania… not even a pandemic.
Since 2008, SHORT+SWEET Malaysia has been an annual feature in our programming. What makes the festival so popular is its unique format. It only premieres new works that are 10 minutes or less. Not only will you be the first to watch these new creations but, in a single night, you get to watch a whole host of different works.
SHORT+SWEET Malaysia 2020 kicked off in October 2020 with SHORT+SWEET Film followed by SHORT+SWEET Stand-Up Comedy+Song and SHORT+SWEET Musical. Unfortunately, the festival was put on pause due to the CMCO.
Fast forward to 2021, we’re delighted to premiere the final two segments SHORT+SWEET Dance and SHORT+SWEET Theatre online on CloudTheatre from 5 – 6 June. Yup, it’s a great combo deal - one ticket will give you access to 5 dance works and 4 short plays in one night. And believe us, the lockdown has truly really spurred the creative juices of these participants.
Come, celebrate not only these amazing talents but the resilience of those in the arts determined to keep creating, keep performing, keep expressing despite the mountain of challenges.
“You gotta dance. As long as the music plays. You gotta dance. Don’t even think why. Start to think, your feet stop. Your feet stop, we get stuck... We know you’re tired, tired and scared. Happens to everyone, okay? Just don’t let your feet stop." — Haruki Murakami (Dance Dance Dance)
Note: Audience voting will not be available for this screening.
