About

A comedic play written by William Shakespeare in the 1590s, it follows four young lovers and a group of amateur actors as they venture into a forest inhabited by fairies, resulting in magical confusion and hilarious misadventures. In the end, the characters find themselves united in love and harmony, with the fairies restoring order to the world.

This most beloved of Shakespeare’s tales sees 6  male actors playing all the roles, adding also the use of puppets and masks. Together they create the play’s 3 worlds: the realm of the court and the young lovers; the magical, dream-inducing forest of spirits &  fairies; and the pragmatic world of the down-to-earth but comic amateur actors,  the Mechanicals. Fun and hilarious, they will have you mesmerized and in stitches !

The unique Shakespeare Demystified format -- weaving together scenes in Shakespeare’s original text with narration in contemporary English -- allows even those unfamiliar with Shakespeare to appreciate and enjoy  the story !
