The Actors Studio Foundation is proud to present the world premiere of Arsyad Azrai’s Saccharine directed by Christopher Ling (Best Director, BOH Cameronian Arts Awards 2012 & 2023 and Anugerah Seni Negara 2009).
 
An unfinished puppet, a room full of messy tools, a never-ending chase for perfection and a chance to click ‘reset’. Fikri's father was a brilliant yet fixated puppet maker, deeply devoted to his craft above all else. Now an adult, Fikri creates a robot replica of his late father, aiming to confront and reconcile with the memories that shaped their relationship. 
 
With the rise of AI and its use to help us deal with loved ones who have passed on, Saccharine offers a timely and compelling exploration of familial bonds, artistic ideals, and the delicate interplay between perception and truth.

The Actors Studio Foundation dengan bangganya mempersembahkan persembahan perdana karya Arsyad Azrai yang berjudul Saccharine, diarahkan oleh Christopher Ling (Pengarah Terbaik, Anugerah Seni BOH Cameronian 2012 & 2023 dan Anugerah Seni Negara 2009).

Sebuah patung yang tidak selesai, sebuah bilik penuh dengan peralatan yang bersepah, satu usaha tanpa henti untuk kesempurnaan dan peluang untuk menekan 'reset'. Ayah Fikri adalah seorang pembuat patung yang brilian namun terbatas kerana terlalu mengabdikan diri pada kerjanya. Kini sebagai seorang dewasa, Fikri mencipta replika robot ayahnya yang sudah meninggal, bertujuan untuk menghadapi dan merangka semula kenangan yang telah membentuk hubungan mereka.

Dengan munculnya kecerdasan buatan (AI) dan penggunaannya untuk membantu kita berdepan kembali dengan orang yang kita cintai setelah mereka pergi, Saccharine menawarkan penerokaan yang tepat pada masanya dan menarik tentang ikatan keluarga, cita-cita seni dan hubungan yang halus antara persepsi dan kebenaran.

Kembali Ke Pangkuan Season Overview
Established in 2021, The Actors Studio Foundation is excited to present its maiden season entitled Kembali Ke Pangkuan, curated and helmed by The Actors Studio’s new Associate Artistic Director Christopher Ling in honour of his 35-year relationship with The Actors Studio and its Co-Founders, Joe & Faridah.
 
Kembali Ke Pangkuan opens with the season teaser, Saccharine, followed by the season highlight Perhiasan Kaca, a Malay adaptation of Tennessee Williams’ beloved classic The Glass Menagerie. It closes with the experimental Trilogi Bulan featuring 3 specially-commissioned BM plays by Yusof Bakar.

Musim Kembali Ke Pangkuan
Ditubuhkan pada tahun 2021, The Actors Studio Foundation dengan gembiranya mempersembahkan musim sulungnya yang bertajuk Kembali Ke Pangkuan, dikurasi dan diarahkan oleh Pengarah Artistik Bersekutu baru The Actors Studio, Christopher Ling, untuk menghormati hubungan 35 tahunnya dengan The Actors Studio dan Pengasas Bersama, Joe & Faridah.

Kembali Ke Pangkuan dibuka dengan teaser musim, Saccharine, diikuti dengan persembahan Perhiasan Kaca, adaptasi Bahasa Malaysia karya klasik The Glass Menagerie oleh Tennessee Williams. Musim ini bakal ditutup dengan Trilogi Bulan, menampilkan 3 karya pentas experimental Bahasa Malaysia ditulis oleh Yusof Bakar.
