About
Masterclass with Monica Casadei (Artistic Director of Artemis Danza) - Choreographic Workshop

Originally from Ferrara and graduated in Philosophy from the University of Bologna with a dissertation on Plato and Dance, she devoted herself to the study of classical and modern dance, first in Italy, then in London, and finally in Paris where she moved at the end of the 80s. Decisive in his training with the choreographers Pierre Doussaint and Isabelle Doubouloz with the master André Cognard Hanshi So shihan, she begins the practice of martial arts; she attended the Académie des Arts Martiaux et Arts Contemporaines in Paris, obtained the 3rd dan degree of Aikido and the teaching diploma of Aikishintaiso at the Académie Autonome d'Aikido Kobayashi Hirokazu.
In France, she founded Artemis Danza in 1994, with whom she moved to Italy in 1997; from 1998 to 2007 the Company was in residence at the Teatro Due-Teatro Stabile in Parma and Reggio Emilia, while from 2014 to 2019 it was in artistic residence at the Teatro Comunale in Bologna. To date, Monica Casadei has created more than 50 creations for the Company, alongside choreographies for other companies, theatrical and opera performances:
