A variety show hosted by Penang's very own stand-up comedian, Garu Rumon, accompanied by the amazing Raggy Singh and his magic guitar. Join Garu and Raggy as they champion penangpac's fundraising effort with a night full of laughter and entertainment - stand ups, improvs, live music and candid conversations! It doesn't get any better than this, folks!

About penangpac

This project is aimed at raising fund to assist the Performing Arts Centre of Penang (penangpac) to sustain its operation. It is a well-known fact that penangpac has been badly hit by the Covid-19 pandemic. Although they are back in operation early this month after shutting down temporarily for almost three months, things hasn’t been looking too good for them.

As a not for profit organisation, penangpac has been struggling with financial loss for years. However, the financial crisis caused by Covid-19 pandemic is a big blow to the only performing arts centre in the Northern Region of Peninsula Malaysia.

The survival of penangpac at the moment depends on donations. We aim to raise as much funds as possible to keep penangpac afloat until it is able to operate at its full capacity. At the moment, with SOPs and public’s fear of going back to theatre, penangpac is still struggling to recover from its financial crisis.

Comedy Night : Garu Saves penangpac! goes online aiming to raise fund for the Performing Arts Centre of Penang which is currently struggling to make ends meet. This fund-raising event will also allow the performing arts centre to continue the good work it does for the community including outreach programmes in public schools, collaboration opportunities for newcomers and affordable workshops for the public.

這場演出旨在為檳城表演藝術中心籌款以便持續經營。眾所周知，檳城表演藝術中心在新冠肺炎疫情爆發後遭受重大打擊，雖然中心在歷經三個多月的停擺之後已經重新開放，但中心所面對的考驗依然嚴峻。

作為非為營利的表演藝術中心，檳城表演藝術中心雖自開幕以來連年虧損，但這次新冠肺炎疫情所帶來的財務危機使到這北馬唯一功能齊全的表演藝術中心無以為繼。

檳城表演藝術中心目前依賴捐款繼續營運。我們冀望可以籌到足夠的捐款以便繼續推展表演藝術，服務社會。截至目前為止，嚴格的疫情標準作業程序以及公眾對重返劇場的疑慮，讓中心財務復甦遙遙無期。
