About Performer and Editor
Irene Pons (Spain)
cannot imagine a time when she has not had a love of dance. She started to dance Catalan folk dances at the age of seven for 10 years. As an adult, she felt the need for more freedom and creativity in her dance. Moving to Mallorca six years ago, she started to dance Contact Improvisation and Body Weather regularly. At the same time, she studied Integrative Body Therapy for three years. Later, she moved to SerVivo, a dance community in Portugal where she continued her movement journey. Over the last two years she has immersed herself in a deep practice of CI through being involved in many residences organized by "Towards - Centre for the practice and research of Contact Improvisation" in Thailand. Irene is also an Osteothai massage therapist and a filmmaker specializing in dance film.
