In this special edition of the concert, audiences will not only get to meet Mr. Bach, but also his talented family. The event will introduce Bach’s wife, Anna Magdalena, and their two gifted sons, Carl Philipp Emanuel and Wilhelm Friedemann. This dynamic family will take you on a musical journey through 1730s Leipzig, offering a glimpse into the daily life and traditions of the Bach household.
A Musical Celebration with the Malaysia Bach Festival Singers and Orchestra
The programme will feature a delightful mix of solo, duet, and choral performances, all accompanied by members of the award-winning Malaysia Bach Festival Singers and Orchestra. In the spirit of the season, audiences will also be invited to join in singing traditional German carols, creating a festive and immersive experience for the whole family.
Educational and Interactive Fun for All Ages
This concert is more than just a performance; it’s an opportunity to learn and engage with history. Audiences will discover what life was like for the Bach family in 1730s Leipzig, with insights into the music, culture, and traditions of the time. Prof. Dr. David Chin, a renowned Bach conductor and scholar, will reprise his role as Mr. Bach. As the Artistic Director of Bachfest Malaysia and conductor of the Malaysia Bach Festival Singers & Orchestra, Dr. Chin brings a wealth of knowledge and passion to the role, making this an educational experience not to be missed.
Hosting the event is the renowned mezzo-soprano and Kodály expert Ms. Chaing Yi Ling, who will guide the audience through this engaging musical journey.
