About
Nge Pali Adat Lepo (Our Adat, Our Strength) (2024)
The documentary follows Gara, in his 50s, as he tends to Long Lawen, his village in rural Sarawak, Malaysia. He reminisces about being forced to resettle from Long Gang due to the Bakun Dam’s development. Long Lawen faces new challenges, including encroaching loggers and a lack of clinics and schools, causing the younger generation to move to towns. Gara’s relentless pursuit is to call his land his own and create a legacy for future generations.
