SEKOTAK CAHAYA

A series of long-waited theater images which were documented, awaited, and re-created over the past 15 years...

Within the mysterious and creative black box theatre and the small black box held in the photographer's hand, both generate countless memories and flash back through light and shadow.

Presented by PaPan Collective, "Sekotak Cahaya" is a joint exhibition of performing arts / theatre photography / visual art works, documented all fleeting moments on stage, recreates dialogue between photographer and all forms of performing arts.

Visual artist Lee Mok Yee conceptualized the exhibition’s installations, making PaPan Haus as the stage of reminiscence and backdrop for the exhibition. Located in the old Petaling Jaya residential area, the varying depths of architectural context and the lighting of the indoor spaces are utilized to re-imagine his third layer of creation.

Photographing the stage or performing arts is not merely capturing the still moments of a performance, it also encompasses documentary records of the creation process, tone-setting, as well as the growing trace of theater troupes and performers, nonetheless dialogue within the theater spaces. Through the choice of viewing angles and focal lengths, each photographer, guided by their intuition and observations, therefore transform from mere onlookers into subjective creators hidden within the scenes.

一箱子的光 Sekotak Cahaya 

用15年來紀錄、等待及再創造的劇場影像…… 箱子，是神秘而充滿創造力的黑箱子劇場；也是攝影師握在手中生成萬千影像的小黑盒。 記錄舞台上不斷消失的一瞬間，也是攝影師個人與表演藝術之間以光影對話的再創造。

由 PaPan Collective 呈獻，《一箱子的光》表演藝術／舞台攝影 / 作品聯展。

由視覺藝術家李慕義構思布展設計，以八板屋作為攝影聯展的光影舞台。在這幢八打靈舊社區房子的空間裡，利用室內不同空間的縱深及光影，為影像展示作出第三層次的創作。

舞台或者表演藝術的拍攝，不僅僅是一場演出在舞台上的定格留影。它也涵蓋了演出台前幕後的創作紀實／宣傳定調／劇團和演員的定位與成長演進／劇場空間的對話。透過鏡位跟鏡頭焦距的選擇，不同的攝影師將根據自己的直覺與觀察，從一個旁觀的記錄者，進而成為隱身在其中的主觀創作者。
