Cheryl’s journey in the performing arts began in church, where she discovered her love for music at a young age. By four, she started learning piano, which led her to complete a Teaching Diploma and begin a vocation in music education. Alongside teaching, Cheryl is an active chorister, performing with various ensembles since 2012, starting with The Canticle Singers.
In 2022, Cheryl expanded her talents to producing and directing, making her debut with Vox Inspira’s "Sondheim: Putting it Together," a tribute to Stephen Sondheim. She also founded the a cappella group, Incidentals, and produced its first show, "Jukebox."
Cheryl has performed on some of the region’s most exciting stages, including the 18th BOH Cameronian Arts Awards with Young KL Singers and International Choral Festivals such as the Bandung, Phnom Penh, and Vietnam Choral Competitions. Her contributions extend to KLPac’s Short + Sweet Festivals where she composed, acted, and performed as both pianist and vocalist.
Cheryl was also one of the backup vocalists in the choir for Jaclyn Victor in the 20th Anugerah Juara Lagu in 2005 for “Gemilang” and in Celcom x Axiata’s 2019 Merdeka short film on the first national choir.
Recently, she served as co-director for KLPac’s RWD:FWD and "Yesterday Once More: We’ve Only Just Begun" and was a backup vocalist for Monday Show School’s "Once on This Island," a nominee in the 19th BOH Cameronian Arts Awards.
Cheryl currently sings with Young KL Singers and The Vochale Project, while receiving vocal training under the tutelage of Mak Chi Hoe.
