About
Can any sound be turned into music? Can anything be an instrument?
This workshop focuses on improvising and creating real-time compositions through unconventional instruments. Under the guidance of musician and sound artist Mirian Kolev, participants of this experimental workshop will learn how we can create music in more expressive ways, and how any sound can become music.
Music is ever-present, the universal language that transcends borders. It is all around, in the air, on the ground. Musical instruments are gateways to express, evoke and come to terms with our emotions. Through different methods and devices—such as field recordings, small sound devices and processed guitar—Mirian will help you explore sonic possibilities and uncover non-traditional ways of making melodies.
*This workshop is recommended for music and sound artists, especially those interested in music composition and sound editing.
