About

Pengalaman Prangin is a speculative roving performance that is part theatre, part time-travel, and part collective experience on memory, history and spatial sensibilities between geomorphology and the built environment.

Participants will be guided to walk and cycle around Sia Boey Urban Archaeological Park leading up towards Lorong Prangin. From Sia Boey Market to Beach Street’s past as a coastal road, participants will listen to audio narration and soundscapes and experience live performances scattered throughout the route, each offering a speculative interpretation of the cultural, historical, and urban morphology tapestry that George Town has evolved into.

The past is not a distant memory—it is ever-present in its lingering traces, inviting participants to explore and uncover. With each step or pedal, unveil new narratives and see familiar streets, alleyways and corners in a brand new light.
