About
Puppets are vessels for the soul, waiting for the hands that will breathe life into them. But what types of hands possess the magic to animate the motionless?
In this workshop, participants can experience the joy and boundless possibilities of contemporary puppetry under the tutelage of experienced puppeteer Chen Chia-Hao.
Using traditional glove puppetry hand training as a foundation, participants will have the opportunity to explore various delicate hand movements. Through imaginative exercises, transform your hands and discover your very own “hand creatures”.
Discussions will delve into the choice of puppets and their implications. Participants will also discuss the changing relative positions of the puppeteer and their puppet, how this changes puppeteer-puppet relationships.
*This workshop is recommended for puppeteers who wish to gain knowledge and theatre-makers who wish to seek distinct ways of empowerment and explore puppeteering. Anyone highly interested in puppet arts is also welcome.
