About
Come Home and Eat explores the different notions of home and its anxieties, seen from the lens of food. How do we find a sense of belonging – and ourselves – through ancient myths, eating trends, passed-down recipes, in the kitchen, and at the dining table?
This production is the sequel to Don’t Like It Here? Then Leave, presented in klpac May last year. Using a variety of immersive storytelling forms and told from diverse viewpoints, this devised project features an eclectic ensemble and is presented in collaboration with klpac.
Content warning: Come Home and Eat contains satire, strong language, and themes involving violence and sexuality. Loud sounds, bright lights, strobe lights, and real food are used. Viewer discretion is advised. For mature audiences.
Buy more, save more: Tickets to all Theatresauce’s productions this year are RM55 (Standard), RM45 (Bulk purchase of 4 tickets), and RM35 (Bulk purchase of 20 or more tickets for university/college students only - a free workshop is included. Please email chloe@theatresauce.com for more information.)
Performance time change: Evening performances begin at 8.45 pm and not the company’s standard time of 8.30 pm, to make way for audiences who are breaking their fast. Matinees remain at 3.00 pm.
What’s next? They All Die At The End, directed by Dhinesha Karthigesu, will play in Pentas 2, May 25 – 28. Check out what else is playing this year on Theatresauce’s website.
