圣洁女神—爱与渴望之歌 Casta Diva： Songs of Love and Longing

This concert focuses on songs that explore the themes of love, desire, happiness, longing, and human emotions, from the tenderest art-songs to the most passionate opera arias.

This concert features the multiple award winner, Soprano Ang Mei Foong, who will be Joined by flutist Yew-Kia Koh, clarinetist Ng Eng Hao, soprano Evon Ng, and col-laborative pianist Lim Yu Jiun.

The concert program will open with the famous aria from Bellini's opera Norma, "Casta Diva", which portraits a divine who sings a prayer to the goddess of the moon for peace; the recital would then feature a selection of arias and scenes from some of the most iconic soprano roles in operas and art-songs, in the form of duet, trio and quartet, showcasing the versatility of the soprano voice, the light-hearted and shimmering flute timber, and the rich, warm and full-bodied clarinet tones.

这场音乐会由女高音洪美枫担任主唱，邀请到长笛演奏家许佑佳、单簧管演奏家黄应豪、女高音黄洁柔以及钢琴合作林玉君共同演出。 音乐会的主题是探索爱、希望、幸福、渴望等人类情感主题，歌曲涵盖了从最温柔的艺术歌曲到最热情的歌剧咏叹调。

音乐会的开场曲目便是贝里尼歌剧《诺尔玛》中著名的咏叹调「圣洁女神」，借歌词向月亮女神祈求和平之意，为观众营造出如梦似境般的氛围。

音乐会的曲目精选自歌剧作品和艺术歌曲中一些最具标志性的女高音角色的咏叹调和场景，采用二重奏、三重奏和四重奏的形式展示女高音的多才多艺和声音的多样性，同时也展现长笛温柔悠长的音色和单簧管温暖浓郁的音调，为观众呈现出一场多元化而又感性的音乐盛宴。

Mei Foong’s voice was described as mellow, dulcet and soothing to the listeners. A multiple award-winning soprano, she was awarded the "Silver Medal Winner Award- Outstanding Achievement" in the Global Music Award; the Golden Medal Award (Voice Category) from the Berliner International Music Competition. In 2018, she was bestowed with the title “Cavaliere” (a Knight of The Order of Star of Italy), a prestigious recognition by the Italian government of her outstanding achievements in vocal art; followed with the Best Solo Performance (Vocal) award in the 16th Boh Cameronian Arts Awards 2019; and the National Academics Awards (the category of Performing Arts) by Ministry of Education in 2019.

As an active recitalist, Mei Foong has given several well received solo recitals in Kuala Lumpur, Taiwan, Macau, Rome and Melbourne, where she performed Robert Schumann’s Frauenliebe und Leben, Gabriel Faure’s La Bonne Chanson, Richard Strauss’s Vier letzte Lieder, Alban Berg’s Sieben frühe Lieder, Joseph Canteloube’s Chants d’auvergne; she also often holds the position as the soprano soloist and has performed Bach’s Coffee cantata,“Ich bin vergnügt mit meinem Glücke”, BWV 84 and “Weichet nur, betrübte Schatten”, BWV 202; Handel's Ode for St. Cecilia's Day, Handel's Messiah, and Beethoven's Symphony No. 9. She is the founder and artistic director of The Song Weavers, the Malaysian first vocal ensemble that is dedicated to the performance and programming of Art Songs. Her opera performances had also been warmly received, she has performed the title role in Bizet’s Carmen, “the mother” in Menotti’s Amahl and the Night Visitors, Mimì in Puccini’s La bohème, The First Lady in Mozart's Die Zauberflöte, the Contessa in Mozart’s Le Nozze di Figaro, and Violetta in Verdi’s La Traviata.

She has collaborated with a few major orchestras and ensembles in Malaysia, which include both the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra (MPO), and the Malaysian Philharmonic Youth Orchestra (MPYO), Kamerata String Ensemble and the Virama Ensemble. She has worked with the conductors such as Lee Kok Leong, David Chin, Juan Montoya, Kevin Field, Ciarán McAuley, Fabio Mechetti, Sergio La Stella, Guillaume Tourniaire, and Naohisa Furusawa. 

While enjoying her busy performance career, she holds the position of Head of Department of Music at Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), apart from teaching, she is also an active researcher in the field of voice rehabilitation and vocal hygiene where her current research looks into voice rehabilitation model for post-COVID-19 management.

美枫出生于马来西亚吉隆坡，启蒙于施昭群老师。 后赴台湾深造，毕业于国立台湾师范大学音乐系，主修声乐，师从任蓉教授，副修钢琴，师从李娓娓教授。 大学毕业后赴意大利深造，就读于国立罗马音乐院，随 Rebecca Berg学习声乐，另随 Sergio Coniglio学习钢琴。 后获取澳洲墨尔本大学颁发之奖学金，并跟随声乐家Merlyn Quaife学习，最后考取墨尔本大学音乐表演硕士; 后考取国立马来西亚博特拉大学音乐博士。

美枫获奖无数，其中声望较高的几个奖项包括「全球音乐大奖」之银奖-卓越成就奖; 由意大利政府总统颁赠的骑士勋章; 柏林国际音乐大赛声乐组金奖; 马来西亚艺术大奖-年度最佳独唱奖（Boh Cameronian Arts Awards）; 以及由首相马哈迪医生颁赠的国家最高学术大奖（表演艺术组）。

美枫是活跃的音乐工作者，演唱足迹包括了马来西亚吉隆坡丶槟城丶新山，台湾丶罗马丶墨尔本丶香港以及澳门等地。 她所演唱的曲目广泛，室内乐作品则包括舒曼的《女人的爱情与生活》丶佛瑞的《美好的歌》丶理查德·史特劳斯的《最后四首歌》、贝尔格的《最初的七首歌曲》等等; 她也曾担任巴哈清唱剧女高音独唱，其中包括了巴哈的《咖啡清唱剧》、《我心满意足》 BWV 84、以及《悲伤之影远离我》 BWV 202;韩德尔的Ode for St. Cecilia's Day 以及《弥赛亚》的女高音独唱。 除此之外，美枫也爱好演唱当代作曲家之作品，她曾在澳洲墨尔本首演近代意大利作曲家 Aldo Finzi之声乐作品集，也曾受邀参与多场马来西亚当代声乐作品之世界首演音乐会，其中有一些作品是特别献给她，为她而作。

美枫曾多次与吉隆坡城市歌剧公司 （KL City Opera， KLCO） 合作。 曾演唱的歌剧与角色包括比才的歌剧《卡门》、梅诺弟的歌剧《阿玛尔与夜访者》中的女主角「母亲」、普契尼的《波西米亚人》中的女主角「咪咪」 、莫札特歌剧《魔笛》中的第一侍女、莫扎特歌剧《费加洛的婚礼》中的伯爵夫人、以及威尔第歌剧《茶花女》中的女主角维奥莉塔。

美枫是现代马来西亚最受瞩目的女高音之一。 她目前担任国立博特拉大学音乐系之系主任。 除演出与教学之外， 美枫也积极从事声音的研究工作，目前的研究方向为人声的复健。 她曾是《星洲日报》音乐专栏「听弹琴」的作者; 目前她也是马来西亚华文独中董事联合会总会课程局艺术科目与音乐科目的顾问委员之一。
