About
Synopsis
Animal Farm depicts a group of anthropomorphic farm animals who wish to create a society where the animals can be equal, free, and happy. Mr. Jones was the cruel farmer who owned Manor Farm. Having had enough hardships, Old Major, a visionary elder pig, rouses the farm animals to rebel against Jones. Under the leadership of the pigs, the animals revolted against Jones, and took control of the farm, renaming it “Animal Farm”, and establishing their own governance based on the principle that “all animals are equal.”
Initially, the animals enjoy success and camaraderie. But as the plot thickens, the pigs’ dream takes a dark turn. Napoleon the pig’s thirst for power grows, and the once-united animal farm begins to fracture. With clever propaganda and cunning tactics, he manipulates the other animals, twisting the ideals of their revolution.
Based on the story written by George Orwell and published in 1945, is an allegory that transpires on Mr. Jones' farm, in which specific characters and situations stand for other characters and situations, so as to make a point about them. The story reflects the events that happened during the Russian revolution of 1917 and the early years of the Soviet Union, as well as in any society in the past and present.
About us
In Waldorf education syllabus, Class 12 students will have to present a full-scale drama production. This milestone marks their transition from high school, preparing them for their next phase in life. We are proud to say that Animal Farm is the first ever Waldorf Education Class 12 drama in Malaysia.
This year's Class 12 drama production is entirely student-driven. From production to acting, from marketing to financing, the students take full ownership of the process. Under the mentorship of their teachers, they shoulder the responsibility for the production's success, which provides opportunities to gain experiences and learn soft skills along the way.
Drama serves as a powerful medium for self-discovery, allowing students to explore their individuality through the characters they portray and the stories they tell. This collaborative journey fosters both personal and social growth, symbolizing their transformation into a new version of themselves.
By attending, you support and celebrate this pivotal moment, becoming a warm, welcoming presence in their journey of growth.
All proceeds from the production will contribute to Class 12 and school fundraising efforts.
