Winner of Innovation in Musical Theatre at the 2017’s BOH Cameronian Arts Awards for co-creating, composing, musical directing, and producing ‘Mahsuri (And Other Peculiar Tales)’ with Liver & Lung, Ian Skatu is an, Actor, Brand Consultant, Composer, Producer.
His theatre credits include: Bendahara in The Actors’ Studio’s ‘Jebat’, ensemble in theatresauce’s ‘They All Die At The End’, Po in theatresauce’s ‘Coyotes’, inline skater in theatrethreesixty’s ‘Synesthesia’, mover in National Art Gallery’s ‘Leonardo Da Vinci Exhibit’, ensemble in theatrethreesixty’s ‘The Fall of the House of Usher’, and many more. He’s also won Best Actor for Short + Sweet 2021 @ KLPAC.
He has also composed and musical directed Liver & Lung’s ‘Malaya Relived: Penang Riots’, produced and directed ‘The Retreat’, ‘Silk & Strings: The Truth About Bullying’, and ‘The Human Exhibit’ series: Mentalhealth and Sex&Gender.
He is currently in the pursuit of helping the performance arts through his experience in Brand Consultancy. Having worked with brands like Boost, IJM Land, Snowflake, Daikin, and more, he believes that there is space to not just think about "how to market my show" but "how to brand my show" because it all begins with branding.
