Founded in 1993 under The Instant Café Theatre Company and becoming independent in 1995, dramalab has been at the forefront of Malaysian theatre. Our journey began with the production of Jit Murad’s Gold Rain and Hailstones and Ann Lee’s Happy Families.
We have introduced new playwrights through our Writers’ Workshops, contributing to the Malaysian stage's richness. Dramalab is committed to identifying, nurturing, and developing local talents while embracing international collaboration and exchange. We support and encourage artistic expression through theatre, continually seeking to produce original work that is multicultural, thought-provoking, and accessible.
