Dao Shang Shao represents the ideology and aesthetic of potters inspired by life on Penang island.
The quiet and tranquil slow pace embraces organic and unexpected qualities in both life and art, together with foraged local materials and an alliance with the very flames that engulf each piece inside of gas and wood fired kilns.
The potters themselves are a diverse collective of local and international practitioners, where cultures and tongues are shaped together by the language of clay.
