Welcome to just jokes: Pop-Up Comedy Festival 2024! A comedy festival for EVERYONE! Join us end of November til middle of December of a cool experience - explore Kuala Lumpur and Selangor through laughs, jokes, amazing comedians, cool shows and even educational workshops!
Week 1 Highlights (30th Nov - 8th Dec):
The Just Jokes: Pop-Up Comedy Festival kicks off with an exciting Opening Night Gala Show, setting the stage for a week of unforgettable entertainment! Enjoy headliner shows by some of Malaysia’s biggest comedy stars, including Douglas Lim, Kavin Jay, and Lucas & Kahmun from BBK Network. For fans of diverse and inclusive comedy, we’re hosting an All-Women's Showcase and local language shows in Bahasa Malaysia, Mandarin, and Tamil!
That’s not all—there’s a live Improv Comedy Show to keep the laughs spontaneous and unexpected! Plus, we’re launching our educational workshops led by industry icons like:
• Rizal van Geyzel: Workshops on stand-up comedy and emceeing
• Shamaine Othman: Performance techniques for aspiring entertainers
• Toni Trevelyan: Insights into graphic design for creatives
Week 2 Highlights (9th Dec - 15th Dec)
Just Jokes: Pop-Up Comedy Festival keeps the momentum going in Week 2 with more spectacular shows and exciting workshops! Catch headliner performances by Malaysia’s comedy royalty, including Joanne Kam Poh Poh, Andrew Netto, and Netflix’s Gajen Nad, guaranteeing nights full of laughs and cool memories.
We’re bringing something special with a collab show featuring the legendary One Mic Stand’s finest—Prakash Daniel, Brian Tan, and Keren Bala Devan. For a unique twist, don’t miss our Tiny Desk Musical Comedy Show, a rare treat blending music and jokes with the coolest and most talented comedians who can do music!
On the workshop front, this week is all about building skills and creative growth:
• Social Media Content Creation & Marketing led by influencer and comedian Marissa Wong and festival founder Mahyar
• Another round of stand-up comedy workshops with the legendary Rizal van Geyzel
• A Corporate Soft Skills & Resume Building Workshop by Zul, ideal for enhancing your professional edge
