Program Highlights

Shostakovich | Festival Overture
A jubilant and exuberant piece, Shostakovich’s Festival Overture encapsulates the spirit of celebration. With its rapid tempo and bright orchestration, it promises to set an uplifting tone for the evening.

Grieg | Peer Gynt - Suites 1 & 2
Dive into the world of Norwegian folklore with Grieg's evocative suites from Peer Gynt. These pieces conjure images of magical landscapes, mythical creatures, and Peer Gynt's own tumultuous journey. From the ethereal "Morning Mood" to the mischievous "In the Hall of the Mountain King", you'll be taken on a fantastical journey.

Tai Yun Ming | The Seventh Sea Princess (World Premiere - Orchestra)
A world premiere by Tai Yun Ming, this piece brings to life Terengganu’s legend of 'The Seventh Sea Princess'. A tale of the Ulik Mayang, it tells the story of a fisherman whose soul is believed to have been abducted by sea princesses. Experience a deep and mysterious narrative that blends traditional Malaysian folklore with contemporary orchestration.

Tchaikovsky | Piano Concerto no.1
One of the most iconic pieces in the classical repertoire, Tchaikovsky's Piano Concerto No. 1 is a testament to the power of drama and passion in music. With its thundering chords and lyrical passages, our soloist, Poom Prommachart, will navigate its emotional depths, taking listeners on a rollercoaster of musical emotions.
