Wong Zhi Duan, born in Sabah, Malaysia, is a distinguished classical vocalist who graduated from the Malaysian Institute of Art under the guidance of Malaysian tenor Mr. Solomon Chong Kim Lung. He has earned notable accolades, including Third Place Overall in the World Voice and Choral Competition Grand Prix Finals 2023 and placing in the Top 8 at the Gold Star International Music Competition 2024.
Since 2022, Zhi Duan has participated in major operatic performances, including "Carmen" in October 2022 and "La Traviata" in February 2023, alongside the MOV Art Company from Korea and the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra. In 2024, he took on the roles of Japanese Soldier and Chen Yen in the Malaysian opera “Solace of Papan” and portrayed the role Page in the opera “Amahl and the Night Visitors.”
In August 2023, Zhi Duan held a personal recital at the Malaysian Institute of Art City Campus Performance Hall. He was invited to perform in the "Pure Joy of Classic: Joint Opera Gala Concert" between the Malaysian Institute of Art and the China National Centre for the Performing Arts in December 2023. In October 2024, he performed with the Young Choral Academy Chorus at the 1st International Choral Festival in Seoul, Korea.
